How We Teach
-
Technique First, Then Design
We teach in the Japanese tradition of Shuhari: first master the technique exactly as it is taught, then make it your own.
-
At the Goldsmith's Bench
Every class takes place at a jeweler's bench in our Fustat studio, with eight benches per session.
-
Every Piece Is Worn
Each exercise is a real piece of jewelry, made to be kept and worn.
-
A Goldsmith Family Since 1942
Three generations of making jewelry in Cairo, now passed on to our students.
Founder and Instructor
Robeir Barsoum
A third generation goldsmith, Robeir trained under European, American and Palestinian teachers and previously taught at Design Studio by Azza Fahmy. He founded Beit Barsoum to teach jewelry the way it is made in a working studio.
